Ex Libris UP: Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire Special Screening UPDATE
URGENT!!!!The Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire movie screening will be in
Cinema 2, 6:30 pm
(it was changed from Cinema 4, 7:00 pm).
The cinema manager, Ms. Nones, just called me tonight and informed me, in so many words that due to screw-ups in their management, they cannot give us 7:00, as we originally agreed upon. So it'll be in Cinema Two, 6:30 pm.
One more time.
Cinema two, 6:30 pm
.
Will reprint and remake some 300 tickets. To those Ex Libris UP members who have already sold their tickets, please make the necessary corrections. To those who have already gotten their 7:00pm Cinema 2 tickets, we'll still honor those (it's got my and Gabi's signatures on them), but for the rest, we'll make fresh tickets.

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire Special Screening
Ex Libris UP
presents a special screening of
Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire
November 16, 2005 (the first day that HP will be shown in the Philippines), 6:30 pm, Cinema Two, Rockwell Powerplant Cinema
Tickets at Php 300.00 each. Please contact Tata (09183216136), Gabi (09192735418) or any Ex Libris UP member you know.
All proceeds will go to Ex Libris UP, which is a recently-established organization for booklovers. Since we are new, we are raising funds to finance our various projects, which include the following:
- the establishment of scholarships for deserving UP students
- the acquisition of literature that is already out of print in the Philippines
- the construction of our own small headquarters in the UP campus
- the organization of lectures on reading and literature
- and other various noteworthy literary causes (i.e. book launchings, etc.)
More on Ex Libris UP:
Ex Libris.
Defn. Latin: “from the books”; “from the bookshelf of”…

Ex Libris UP
Ex Libris is an organization of UP students who are the most diverse group of people you can find anywhere on campus, bound by one passion: books. J
Do you consider yourself an insatiable reader? Do you consider being trapped inside a bookstore overnight as your idea of Heaven? Ever lusted for a book but couldn’t afford it? Ever wished that you could trade some of your old books for the chance to read a certain book out on the market? Ever looked through the Main Lib’s books and wished that they had a more updated and extensive collection? Ever wanted to be part of an org where people are as crazy about books as you?
UP Ex Libris hopes to be the answer to all your book-related problems.
***
We noticed that among the organizations in UP, there is none geared to promoting the appreciation of literature, especially in the generation of cyberspace and computers. We believe that books are treasures, and that their value to students, as well as to the Filipino youth at large, should not be unacknowledged. Thus, we created Ex Libris UP.
We would like not only to share our love for literature among ourselves, but to those who have not the leisure or the means to do so for themselves. These are the majority of the UP students who cannot afford to buy books, or have access to the books they want because of the limited resources of the campus libraries, etc. We have an organized system of booklending that enables each and every member to have access to many other books through the other members’ collections, encouraging them to read more, broaden their literary horizons, or simply bask in the companionship of fellow booklovers.
We hold meetings in which we foster good fellowship and good reading. In these gatherings we share opinions, views, critiques and real life lessons from books; explore other genres, share our favorite books and personal literary experiences with each other, and pool resources together to buy much-desired books.
Help us bring books back to students. Help us keep Ex Libris UP alive!!
Hoping for your favorable response,
Natasha Francisco

My little brother is taking the UPCAT this weekend (sniff), and I'm so sentimental about it! It will be so much fun next year, when all three of us siblings are in UP. I can picture the three of us already, hanging out at CASAA drinking iced coffee together... or munching on cheese turon at Katag... watching Thursday Evening Concerts at my college... chick/boy watching at AS Steps... screaming at the (naked) participants of the Oblation Run at the top of our lungs... Aaaak! So much fun!!
(Of course, he'll probably have his own circle of friends to hang out with and would rather die than be caught in the company of his ates for fear of being called a sissy... haaaay... but an ate can dream, right?)
To everyone who's taking the UPCAT this weekend.... GOOD LUCK AND GOD BLESS! Chicken lang yan!
------------------------------------------------
I am now a working student. (yes!) I help Tata and Kristyl coach taekwondo at RMM Wednesdays and Saturdays, for three hours straight. It's exhausting but rewarding work. I love working with kids! I am DEFINITELY going to be a teacher when I graduate.
------------------------------------------------
I have so much work to do this weekend, it's unbelievable. I have three papers to type, two concerts to critique, a Schumann piano piece to analyze and graph, and an exam in Geography to prepare for... not to mention the two songs I have to learn by Monday for German Lit class from Schumann's Liederkreis (the Op. 24 one, by Heine), and the amount of work needed to prepare for our MuL 135 midterms on the 16th. AaaaAaaaAAA!! Good luck to me...
-------------------------------------------------
Saw two concerts this past week... Kuya Jimboy's recital on Monday, and the Piano Faculty concert on Thursday. I LOVE watching concerts at my college! Especially with friends.

How I "Life" my Life daw (hehe)
| How You Life Your Life |
You seem to be straight forward, but you keep a lot inside. You tend to avoid confrontation and stay away from sticky situations. You tend to have one best friend you hang with, as opposed to many aquaintences. You have one big dream in your life, and you never lose sight of it. |

I attended the master class of the wonderful Miss Eddye Pierce Young today, and learned SO MUCH!!!! Can't even begin to describe just how much. I hope she comes back and gives another class, soon. What a wonderful teacher and singer she is...

Can Anybody Find Me Somebody to Love?
God can! And He already has. Just wait for his perfect timing. :)
You long to give yourself completely to someone...
To have a deep soul relationship with another...
To be loved thoroughly and exclusively...
BUT GOD SAYS:
"No, not until you are satisfied, fulfilled and content with being loved by Me alone, with giving yourself totally, unreservedly to me...to having an intensely personal, unique relationship with Me alone, discovering that only in Me is your satisfaction to be found, then will you be capable of the perfect human relationship that I have planned for you.
You will never be united with another until you are united with Me...exclusive of anyone or anything else, exclusive of any other desires or longings. I want you to stop planning, stop wishing and allow me to give you the most thrilling plan existing...one that you cannot imagine.
I WANT YOU TO HAVE THE BEST.
Please allow me to bring it to you. Just expect the greatest things...keep listening and learning the things I tell you. Just wait. That's all..
DON'T BE ANXIOUS, DON'T WORRY.
Don't look around at the things others have gotten or that I've given them. Don't look at the things you think you want. Just keep looking off and away and up to Me or you'll miss what I want to show you. And then, when you're ready, I'll surprise you with a love more wonderful than you could ever dream of.
You see, until you are ready and until the one I have for you is ready (I am working even this very moment to have both of you ready at the same time)...until you are both satisfied exclusively with Me and the life that I have prepared for you, you can't experience the love that exemplifies your relationship with Me and is thus the perfect love.
I want you to see in the flesh a picture of your relationship with Me and to enjoy materially and concretely the everlasting union of beauty, perfection and love that I offer you with Myself.
Knowing that I love you utterly, believe it and be satisfied".

You see what silly things we come up with when fighting the urge to sleep during 20th Cent. Music Lit class... not that the class is boring, but it happens to be right after lunch time, the worst time slot of all... 1-2:30 pm... and yes, our room is airconditioned.
Aircon + Full stomach + Siesta time = ZzzzZZZzzzzZZZZzzzzzzzzz

I wore a skirt to school day... for the 2nd time in my whole college life. Wearing skirts to UP is NOT very practical, and my feet ached after tripping all over my sandals today. But there's nothing like a pretty knee-high denim skirt paired with a gorgeous blouse to make one feel all feminine and pretty. :) Haha! Nagfefeeling.
Tata wore a skirt as well. I made sure to drop by her college so we would be "seen" together (haha pa-cute!). Good thing Kady had her camera! She took a pic of us. (Kady, pa upload naman sa friendster! :p)

Yesterday, something really sad happened... our family's not quite over it yet but we soon will be, thank goodness.
Life is so short, and the time given to us so precious. It's only now that I realize this, fully.

You are Stardust! You are whimsical, creative, and
spirited. You might be seen as naive and
foolhardy, which is a little true, but it can
also be called bravery. Youre idealistic and
people might think youre a little off because
you talk about some strange things. You
probably love nature, whether its you love
animals, nature walks or just admiring it from
afar. Youre a creative person and like to write
short stories or poems and draw and paint. You
have a sly, self-depreciating sense of humor
and are a blast to be with because of your
adventurous personality.

(sighs contentedly) Today was pretty harassing. Had all 5 of my classes plus a report, an exam and a quiz. Yupyup, "harassed" is an understatement for what I'm feeling right now. But I'm so happy! I can finally..... read.... Harry.... Potter!! :)

On Harry Potter and Beethoven Strinq Quartets
Wahoo!! Am so happy... our Forms and Analysis report on a Beethoven String Quartet was GREAT!! Boardmate Kris reported on the Expo, Franco on the Recap, and I did the Development. Golly, that was the most frightening experience of my life! Good thing Sir Baes was nicer to me than to Kris (Boardmate, I think he gave you a tougher time because he knows how good you are :) ), hehe, and the Major group didn't give us a hard time either.
And we ended up getting a pretty high grade! Wahoooo!!! :)
Now there's only my Geography report tomorrow, and yikes! Our exam in 20th Cent. Music Lit. Huhuhu....
Go me go me go me! Yes. Sign of madness, talking to oneself. (sigh)
I can't wait for tomorrow to be over, so I can finally have time to read Harry Potter 6!! (It's irritating, we've had it since Saturday but I can only read it after all the reports/exams are done....grrrrr!!)
My brother read it first. It's annoying how he gasps every dozen pages or so, and makes a comment on how it's the best book in the series, and that so many shocking things are happening. AAAAAAAA!!!
Hmmm... I can see it now...
Voldemort: Harry... I am ..... YOUR FATHER!! (HiSsssssSSSsssSSSSS)
Harry: NoooooooOOOOOoooooOOOOOooooOOOOO!!
Oh wait, I'm confusing it with Star Wars. :)
I hope nobody dies in the book. :( Losing Sirius the last time was bad enough. Tata mourned his "death" for weeks.
(sigh) There's only one thing worse than not having Harry Potter 6 when all of your friends have a copy... and that's HAVING HARRY POTTER 6 AND NOT BEING ABLE TO READ IT. ARGH!!!!!
